Sophie Anderson (1823-1903). "Spring" - a young lady wearing a white dress clasping a large bunch of flowers against her upper body. The girl having below waist length curly auburn hair, with a garland of pink and white flowers in her hair. The flowers within her grasp include red and pink roses, blue poppies, white daisies, fuschias and sweet peas. Her lower body, hair and flowers fill the lower canvas and her head and neck are set off against a blue sky with fleecy light cloud moulding the blue sky into the lower half of the painting, oil on canvas, signed, 81cm x 54cm.
